Bio
Dr. Lenyr Muñoz grew up in North Miami, Florida. As an artistic child who liked to draw pictures of animals, she knew she would be either a graphic designer or an animal scientist. She first attended art school before moving to Chicago (where she has resided since 1996). After doing creative work for several years, she realized she’d rather be a veterinarian. As a full-time web designer, she attended night classes and took a part-time job as an emergency veterinary assistant to prepare for this career shift.
Since graduating in 2014 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, she has worked in both feline-specific and general practice. She has also volunteered with high-volume spay and neuter clinics and is the staff veterinarian for The Chicago Catcade, a non-profit feline rescue. Throughout this work, she has solidified her passion for all aspects of feline medicine including oral and soft tissue surgery. She also has a soft spot for geriatric pets and loves to see them thrive with good care.
Dr. Muñoz truly enjoys connecting with people to help them become their pets’ best health advocate.
While not cooking vegetarian food, long distance walking, gardening or reading, Dr. Muñoz shares her life with her husband, John, and their two cats, Febby and Lambert.
