Dr. Kate Sapato grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and has dreamed of living in the city ever since. Her love of animals was evident from a young age, as she started insisting on accompanying her family Labrador to vet visits around age 6. She even drafted a PowerPoint presentation and pet ownership contract to convince her parents to let her adopt a dog of her own at age 13. It worked!
Following her passion for animals and science, Dr. Sapato attended the University of Illinois and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology. She then became a “traitor” to her deeply orange-and-blue family by attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison to earn her DVM in 2020. She is now a proud Illini and Badgers fan and claims her support for both teams is equal, especially during March Madness.
Dr. Sapato has finally achieved her dream of moving to Chicago where she can be found running in her neighborhood, baking lots of cookies, or hanging out with her cat, Eloise, on the weekends. She is excited to be a part of the BLVD Team and looks forward to helping her patients enjoy many happy, healthy years by focusing on preventative medicine, nutrition, and working as a team with pet owners to provide the best care possible to their beloved pets.
