Bio
Dr. Ashley Peters is a Chicago-land native. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, where she spent her younger years collecting a small zoo's worth of animals at home (dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, horses, fish, you name it!) She grew up riding and training horses, and spent every second at the barn that she could.
Dr. Peters attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for both undergrad and veterinary school. She went in thinking she was going to become an equine vet, but soon found her love for small animal medicine and the ability to form a close bond with both her patients and their owners. After graduation, Dr. Peters worked at a busy small animal practice in the North Shore where she saw a diverse caseload.
Dr. Peters enjoys many areas of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys dermatology, internal medicine, and dentistry. She strongly believes in client education and communication and hopes to empower owners to make the best health decisions for their pets.
In her free time, Dr. Peters enjoys reading and baking, exploring the city and its many restaurants with her husband, horseback riding as much as possible, and spending time with her fur babies Casey an Irish Setter and her two kitties Sadie and Sunny.
