Bio

Dr. Alyssa Blanchard hails from Iowa, but has enjoyed living in Chicago since beginning her veterinary journey in 2020. Dr. Blanchard says she always knew she wanted to work in the healthcare field, but became interested in veterinary medicine after volunteering at PAWS Lurie Spay & Neuter Clinic in Chicago during her undergraduate degree. Her favorite thing about being a veterinarian is that every day is different with the case variety that she sees! In a single day, she might be taking on the roles of a surgeon, a dentist, dermatologist or an ophthalmologist. When Dr. Blanchard isn’t at work, she stays busy traveling to new places, honing her yoga practice, hunting for the best cup of coffee in Chicago and spending time with her Ragdoll cat, Margie.
