What’s Next at BLVD Vet
Hello Neighbors,
As we continue to adapt to a changing COVID climate, our practices are beginning to cautiously test in-house procedures to allow for increased efficiency, better client communication and eventually increased appointment availability. Here’s what you can expect to see with upcoming visits:
For the next few months we will be inviting select clients based on patient needs to enter the practice. We will be focusing on:
Surgical Pick Up
End of Life care
If you wish to remain outside, we are happy to continue Curbside Service.
Based on local mandates and the status of COVID in our area, we hope to allow the majority of appointments with our veterinarians to be in-house come September.
Please continue to follow our guidelines listed in our Coronavirus Action Plan.
Masks will be required inside.
Social distancing will be enforced.
Hand Sanitizer will be provided.
We understand that there has been increased difficulty in getting appointments scheduled as quickly as normal. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes and want you to know our staff is doing their very best under unusual and sometimes challenging circumstances.
Some things we are doing to increase our appointment availability include:
NEW: Telemedicine Services!
We have been piloting a Telemedicine Appointment service for patients who’ve been examined by one of our veterinarians in the past 12 months. We’ve defined the conditions that are ideal for a virtual consult and our team is offering it as an option for symptoms that don’t need urgent care or immediate diagnostics.
This should allow you to speak with a veterinarian sooner and free up some appointment slots for pets who need to come in sooner rather than later.
Hiring Efforts
4 additional Veterinarians!
3 additional Veterinary Technicians so far!
2 additional Client Care Specialists so far!
All new hires have detailed and extensive training to keep our quality of service dependable.
We are in the process of expanding into a third practice in the Ravenswood neighborhood. We hope in addition to serving this community, it will allow for appointment overflow this Fall. More info to come as we get closer to opening!
In the meantime, please know it’s never ideal for us to turn away patients; this is the last thing we want to do. However, when we are at capacity, we want to ensure that each patient is given the attention and care they need even if it isn’t with us. We are not built out to be a high volume clinic and our veterinary team gives their full attention to each patient that is scheduled. It’s important to us that we don’t sacrifice their quality of care by overloading them with add-ons. We understand it can be frustrating when we are unable to fit your pet in, but every decision we make regarding appointment requests is to prioritize the safest and most thoughtful care possible. In cases where your pet is very ill or otherwise requires immediate care our doctors will at their discretion sometimes refer you to MedVet, the local emergency hospital. Please know this decision is not taken lightly and is always because it is in the best interest of your pet.
We want to extend a sincere thank you for your patience and understanding as we grow to better serve our community. We will be sending out additional information on our onboarding Veterinarians and Telemedicine services in the upcoming weeks!
Sincerely,
The BLVD Team
