2020 Year in Review
Greetings BLVD Clients and Friends,
It's hard to believe 2020 capped off six years of service for Boulevard Veterinary!
Here are a few highlights:
We joined the Ravenswood neighborhood
We added 5 Veterinarians to the BLVD team
We promoted 5 team members to leadership roles
We developed a growing Telemedicine service
We raised $4,579 for local rescues using our BLVD Rescue Committee
With the support of our community, our clients and our team, we were able to open our third practice in Ravenswood! Boulevard Veterinary Ravenswood is now open and accepting new patients.
To accommodate our growing practices and patient needs, we added five new veterinarians in 2020. We were so delighted to welcome Dr. Erin Newman, Dr. Grace Chen, Dr. Kate Garbaciak, Dr. Gail Simpson and Dr. Lenyr Muñoz to the BLVD family!
Additionally, to continue providing quality service we added to our leadership team. We now have three Client Care Supervisors and two Veterinary Technician Supervisors.
In 2020, we rolled out our first ever Telemedicine appointment with our first ever Telemedicine Veterinarian, Dr. Grace Chen.
Through a virtual consultation from your computer or mobile phone, our veterinarian can assess your furry family member’s health from their most comforting place: home! Our Telemedicine services will allow many of our non-urgent cases to seek a consultation without having to come into the office.
Here's what our Rescue Committee accomplished in 2020:
Organized a donation drive for Paw Salvation that resulted in an overflowing amount of goods for the homeless and their pets
Donated $3,000 to our Rescue Partners and new friends at Paw Salvation and Rescueber
Raised $4,579 for our Rescue Partners (ALIVE Rescue, Live Like Roo and Wild Hearts) and Paw Salvation
Assisted our Rescue Partners with $35,500 in BLVD services and procedures
Some more exciting news is that we've officially partnered with The Catcade as our Ravenswood Rescue Partner!
The Catcade is a non-profit, arcade-themed cat rescue, lounge, and version of a cat café. Their lounge simulates a home environment. Cats are not kept in cages, instead they get to live in the 600 sq. ft. lounge where guests can pay to visit and spend time playing, cuddling, and socializing the rescue cats. All of their cats are adoptable, with the exception of their resident cat Leo. Our own Dr. Lenyr Muñoz has been volunteering with The Catcade for some time and has been a huge help getting us acquainted!
Much like most businesses in 2020, The Catcade has had to close their facility to guests which has been detrimental to their rescue. They have oodles of cats in their care at any given time; adopting out 400 cats in 2020 alone! We are so excited to provide them support during this time when they really need it.
We want to express a sincere thank you for all of the support over the last year. Through navigating COVID-19, adapting to Curbside Service to keep our team safe, and welcoming us in Ravenswood, we felt the support of our communities along the way. We are truly humbled to be able to open our doors every day as an independent and locally owned business. We can't wait to see what 2021 brings!
Sincerely,
Dr. Frederickson and the BLVD Team
