Bio
Dr. Laffey is from Illinois, but has done her fair bit of traveling, including going to veterinary school in the Caribbean! In elementary school she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian (and became a vegetarian) because she loved animals so much. Her parents are Irish immigrants and they viewed pet care a lot differently than she did, so she wanted to grow up and really be able to make a difference in pet’s lives. Her favorite thing about being a veterinarian is the combination of science and passion - and the bonus of working with like-minded weirdos! Dr. Laffey has a full brood of pets including an island kitty Poppy, a big silly kitty named Jetpack, a senior chihuahua Minnie, a strange creature chi named Walter, and a pitty named Tofu. When she’s not at work she enjoys volunteering at Purrfect Cat Rescue, traveling (she’s been to Subway in five different countries!) and spending time with her partner who is her high school sweetheart.
